Protected from the Scorching Wind
فَمَنَّ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيۡنَا وَوَقَىٰنَا عَذَابَ ٱلسَّمُومِ ٢٧
But Allah hath been gracious unto us and hath preserved us from the torment of the breath of Fire.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
“So Allah conferred favour upon us and protected us from the punishment of the scorching fire.”
Insight
Elmalılı explains “samum” as scorching heat that penetrates the pores: Allah by His grace and help protected them from it.
