Lord of the Easts
رَّبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَا وَرَبُّ ٱلۡمَشَٰرِقِ ٥
Lord of the heavens and of the earth and all that is between them, and Lord of the sun’s risings.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
Lord of the heavens and earth and what is between them, and Lord of the sunrises.
Insight
According to Elmalılı, “mashariq” are the rising points of the stars, or the sun rising each day at a different point through the year.
