A Losing Return
قَالُواْ تِلۡكَ إِذࣰا كَرَّةٌ خَاسِرَةࣱ ١٢
They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
They said: “That would then be a losing return.”

According to Elmalılı, they said this mockingly: “If so, since we did not believe or prepare, it would be a losing return.”
