Water
Say: Have ye thought: If (all) your water were to disappear into the earth, who then could bring you gushing water.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
Say: Have you considered: if your water were to sink into the earth, who could bring you flowing water?
Insight
Elmalılı sees water as the most vital substance of life. If it sank away, no person, no state and no science could create it. None but the Most Merciful could bring it; this is one of the plainest truths.
Reflect
Today, use water without waste and give thanks with every sip.
