Thinking He Would Not Return
إِنَّهُۥ ظَنَّ أَن لَّن يَحُورَ ١٤
He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah).
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
He thought he would never return.

According to Elmalılı, he thought his joy would never turn to sorrow, that he would not die, that he would bear no responsibility.
