An Evil Abode
إِنَّهَا سَآءَتۡ مُسۡتَقَرࣰّا وَمُقَامࣰا ٦٦
Lo! it is wretched as abode and station.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
Evil it is as an abode and residence.
Insight
Elmalılı says “mustaqarr” and “muqam” both mean a place of staying and their difference is subtle; one may be seen as a particular spot within the residence.
