Neither Waste Nor Stinginess
And those who, when they spend, are neither prodigal nor grudging; and there is ever a firm station between the two.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
When they spend, they are neither extravagant nor stingy, but take a balanced way between.
Insight
Elmalılı explains “israf” as exceeding the limit in anything. Spending is for necessity, need or beauty; eating enough not to die is a necessity.
Reflect
Sort one of your expenses today into necessity, need and adornment.
