His Is the Dominion
ٱلَّذِي لَهُۥ مُلۡكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءࣲ شَهِيدٌ ٩
Him unto Whom belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is of all things the Witness.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
To whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is witness over all things.
Insight
According to Elmalılı, all dominion and rule of the heavens and earth is His. The believers were thrown into those trenches because they believed in His dominion, might and worthiness of praise.
