Those Who Do Not Repent
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ فَتَنُواْ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنَٰتِ ثُمَّ لَمۡ يَتُوبُواْ فَلَهُمۡ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابُ ٱلۡحَرِيقِ ١٠
Lo! they who persecute believing men and believing women and repent not, theirs verily will be the doom of hell, and theirs the doom of burning.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
Those who persecute believing men and women and then do not repent will have the punishment of Hell and of burning.
Insight
Elmalılı points to “and then do not repent”: even for those who commit the greatest wrong, the door of repentance is open; the punishment is for those who do not repent.
Reflect
Never think the door of repentance is closed because of a mistake.
