Fire from Green Trees
Who hath appointed for you fire from the green tree, and behold! ye kindle from it.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
He made fire for you from the green tree, and with it you kindle.
Insight
Elmalılı describes the markh and ‘afar trees known to the Bedouin: both green and full of sap, yet rubbing them together makes fire. The One who brings opposites together can raise the dead.
Reflect
Find two things in your life that seem opposite yet work in harmony.
