The Word Came True
Already hath the judgment, (for their infidelity) proved true of most of them, for they believe not.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
The word has come true against most of them, so they will not believe.
Insight
Most commentators say the “word” here is Allah’s judgement of punishment against those who stubbornly deny. Elmalılı indicates that this is earned not by mere heedlessness but by resisting the truth knowingly.
Reflect
Today, listen to a truth you know without resisting it.
