Heedlessness
لِتُنذِرَ قَوۡمࣰا مَّآ أُنذِرَ ءَابَآؤُهُمۡ فَهُمۡ غَٰفِلُونَ ٦
That thou mayst warn a folk whose fathers were not warned, so they are heedless.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
The Qur’an was sent so you may warn a people whose recent forefathers were not warned, and so they are heedless.
Insight
According to Elmalılı, warning means telling that this world has a Hereafter and that everyone will finally give account before Allah. Heedlessness is living without knowing this.
Reflect
What makes you most heedless during the day?
