Alas for the Servants
Ah, the anguish for the bondmen! Never came there unto them a messenger but they did mock him.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
Alas for the servants! Every messenger who came to them, they mocked.
Insight
According to Elmalılı, this is not only sorrow for those destroyed; it is a warning for those on the same road and an alarm for the heedless.
Reflect
Consider that something you mock may in fact be serious.
