Those Who Do Not Return
أَلَمۡ يَرَوۡاْ كَمۡ أَهۡلَكۡنَا قَبۡلَهُم مِّنَ ٱلۡقُرُونِ أَنَّهُمۡ إِلَيۡهِمۡ لَا يَرۡجِعُونَ ٣١
Have they not seen how many generations We destroyed before them, which indeed returned not unto them.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
Have they not seen how many generations We destroyed before them, and that they do not return to them?
Insight
According to Elmalılı, those destroyed never return to this world; but all of them, earlier and later, will finally be gathered before Allah. So taking other gods is meaningless.

Calmly consider that one day you too will leave this world.
