With My Two Hands
He said: O Iblis! What hindereth thee from falling prostrate before that which I have created with both My hands? Art thou too proud or art thou of the high exalted.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
“What prevented you from prostrating to that which I created with My hands?”
Insight
According to Elmalılı, the Qur’an attributes “hand” to Allah sometimes singular, sometimes plural, and here dual; this shows the special importance given to man’s creation.
Reflect
Remember the worth Allah has given you.
