Our Strong Servant David
Bear with what they say, and remember Our bondman David, lord of might, Lo! he was ever turning in repentance (toward Allah).
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
Be patient over what they say and remember Our servant David, the possessor of strength; he was one who repeatedly turned back.
Insight
According to Elmalılı, David fasted one day and broke fast the next, and rose for prayer at midnight; the root of his strength was the strength of religion.
