Grown Like a Plant
وَٱللَّهُ أَنۢبَتَكُم مِّنَ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ نَبَاتࣰا ١٧
And Allah hath caused you to grow as a growth from the earth.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
And Allah has caused you to grow from the earth like a plant.
Insight
Elmalılı explains “nabat” as everything that sprouts and grows from the earth: man too was made to grow from the soil like a plant.
