وَإِنَّهُۥ فِيٓ أُمِّ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ لَدَيۡنَا لَعَلِيٌّ حَكِيمٌ ٤
And Lo! in the Source of Decrees, which We possess, it is indeed sublime, decisive.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
And indeed it is, in the Mother of the Book with Us, exalted and full of wisdom.
Insight
According to Elmalılı, the Mother of the Book is the Preserved Tablet, or divine knowledge, its source; the Qur’an is loftier than all revealed books.
Reflect
Read the Qur’an with the respect its loftiness deserves.
