Blind to the Remembrance
And he whose sight is dim to the remembrance of the Beneficent, We assign unto him a devil who becometh his comrade.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
Whoever is blinded from the remembrance of the Most Merciful, We appoint for him a devil.
Insight
Elmalılı explains “‘asha” as a weakness of the eye, the night-blindness; here it means turning a blind eye.
Reflect
Know that when you neglect remembering Allah, the devil draws near.
