They Forgive When Angry
And those who shun the worst of sins and indecencies and, when they are wroth, forgive.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
Those who avoid the major sins and immoralities, and when angry, they forgive.
Insight
Elmalılı explains “kaba’ir” as sins with a threat, prescribed penalty or explicit prohibition, and “fawahish” as those of extreme foulness.
