Within a Few Years
Within ten years - Allah’s is the command in the former case and in the latter - and in that day believers will rejoice.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
Within a few years. To Allah belongs the command before and after.
Insight
Elmalılı explains “bid‘” as three to nine; when the verse came, Abu Bakr wagered on it with the rejoicing idolaters, and the news came true.
Reflect
Trust Allah’s promise as Abu Bakr did.
