In the Nearest Land
فِيٓ أَدۡنَى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَهُم مِّنۢ بَعۡدِ غَلَبِهِمۡ سَيَغۡلِبُونَ ٣
In the nearer land, and they, after their defeat will be victorious.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
In the nearest land; but they, after their defeat, will overcome.
Insight
According to Elmalılı, the nearest land may be Syria, nearest to Arabia, or near Istanbul, close to the Byzantine capital.
