The Slander
Lo! they who spread the slander are a gang among you. Deem it not a bad thing for you; nay, it is good for you. Unto every man of them (will be paid) that which he hath earned of the sin; and as for him among them who had the greater share therein, his will be an awful doom.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
Those who brought the lie are a group among you; do not think it bad for you, rather it is good for you.
Insight
According to Elmalılı, “ifk” is speech turned from its origin, a distortion of truth — a lie and slander; “buhtan” is slander that stuns a person.
Reflect
Look for good even in slander against you.
