Were It Not for His Favour
وَلَوۡلَا فَضۡلُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيۡكُمۡ وَرَحۡمَتُهُۥ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ تَوَّابٌ حَكِيمٌ ١٠
And had it not been for the grace of Allah and His mercy unto you, and that Allah is Clement, Wise, (ye had been undone).

Were it not for Allah’s favour upon you and His mercy, and that Allah is Accepting of repentance and Wise…

According to Elmalılı, had you been left to yourselves, and had Allah not accepted repentance but abandoned you to unwise rulings and disorderly rule, what would have happened!
