Female Names
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ بِٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ لَيُسَمُّونَ ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةَ تَسۡمِيَةَ ٱلۡأُنثَىٰ ٢٧
Lo! it is those who disbelieve in the Hereafter who name the angels with the names of females.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
Those who do not believe in the Hereafter name the angels with female names.
Insight
According to Elmalılı, since they have no real faith in the Hereafter, they do not fear the consequences of sin and of slandering Allah.
