Oaths as a Shield
ٱتَّخَذُوٓاْ أَيۡمَٰنَهُمۡ جُنَّةࣰ فَصَدُّواْ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِۚ إِنَّهُمۡ سَآءَ مَا كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ ٢
They make their faith a pretext so that they may turn (men) from the way of Allah. Verily evil is that which they are wont to do.

Meaning
They have taken their oaths as a cover.

According to Elmalılı, their testimony contains an oath; they used their oaths as a shield to protect themselves.
