The Roar
When they are flung therein they hear its roaring as it boileth up.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
When they are thrown into it, they hear its dreadful roar as it boils.
Insight
Elmalılı explains “shahiq” as a sob, a terrible hissing: either the sound of the fire’s greed to devour, or the bitter cry of those within it.
Reflect
