An Evil Return
وَلِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بِرَبِّهِمۡ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَۖ وَبِئۡسَ ٱلۡمَصِيرُ ٦
And for those who disbelieve in their Lord there is the doom of hell, a hapless journey’s end.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
For those who disbelieve in their Lord there is the punishment of Hell. What an evil destination!
Insight
According to Elmalılı, the disbelief here is ingratitude and disrespect towards the Lord who creates and sustains a person. “What an evil destination” describes how bitter the end of that road is.
Reflect
Today, name one of the blessings you have been given, knowingly and out loud.
