Seeing It Near
But when they see it nigh, the faces of those who disbelieve will be awry, and it will be said (unto them): This is that for which ye used to call.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
When they see it near, the faces of the disbelievers will darken, and it will be said: “This is what you used to call for.”
Insight
According to Elmalılı, when the signs of death and the return come right up to them, the faces of the mockers change. But understanding at that moment no longer helps.
Reflect
Do a good deed you have been postponing today; tomorrow may be too late.
