The Miser Who Feels Self-Sufficient
وَأَمَّا مَنۢ بَخِلَ وَٱسۡتَغۡنَىٰ ٨
But as for him who hoardeth and deemeth himself independent.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
But one who is stingy and considers himself self-sufficient.
Insight
According to Elmalılı, this is one who clutches his wealth, avoids giving, and thinks he has reached wealth and needs nothing for the future.
