Three Great Sins
And those who cry not unto any other god along with Allah, nor take the life which Allah hath forbidden save in (course of) justice, nor commit adultery - and whoso doeth this shall pay the penalty.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
They do not call on another god besides Allah, nor kill a soul unjustly, nor commit adultery.
Insight
According to Elmalılı, associating partners with Allah, murder and adultery are the greatest of major sins; they are mentioned especially because they are crimes ever committed in the name of religion, civilisation and humanity.
