Doubled Punishment
يُضَٰعَفۡ لَهُ ٱلۡعَذَابُ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ وَيَخۡلُدۡ فِيهِۦ مُهَانًا ٦٩
The doom will be doubled for him on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein disdained for ever.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
Multiplied for him is the punishment on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein humiliated.
Insight
According to Elmalılı, the lengthening of the pronoun in recitation hints at the duration of abiding.
