The Abandoned Qur’an
And the messenger saith: O my Lord! Lo! mine own folk make this Qur’an of no account.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
The Messenger said: “My Lord, my people have taken this Qur’an as a thing abandoned.”
Insight
According to Elmalılı, abandoning it means either leaving it and not acting on it, or speaking nonsense about it.
Reflect
Don’t leave the Qur’an abandoned; read and apply it today.
