Ungrateful Man
إِنَّ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ لِرَبِّهِۦ لَكَنُودࣱ ٦
Lo! man is an ingrate unto his Lord.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
Truly, man is ungrateful to his Lord.
Insight
Elmalılı explains “kanud”: one who does not recognise the right of a blessing or give thanks; who ignores the blessings he sees and keeps complaining only about his troubles.
Reflect
Today, name a blessing instead of a complaint.
