Who Benefits from Warning
إِنَّمَا تُنذِرُ مَنِ ٱتَّبَعَ ٱلذِّكۡرَ وَخَشِيَ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنَ بِٱلۡغَيۡبِۖ فَبَشِّرۡهُ بِمَغۡفِرَةࣲ وَأَجۡرࣲ كَرِيمٍ ١١
Thou warnest only him who followeth the Reminder and feareth the Beneficent in secret. To him bear tidings of forgiveness and a rich reward.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
You can only warn one who follows the Reminder and fears the Most Merciful unseen. Give him glad tidings of forgiveness and a noble reward.
Insight
According to Elmalılı, the Prophet warns everyone, but the warning benefits only one who reads the Qur’an seriously, listens to advice and reveres the Most Merciful without seeing Him.
