Not Heard in the Latest Religion
مَا سَمِعۡنَا بِهَٰذَا فِي ٱلۡمِلَّةِ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ إِنۡ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا ٱخۡتِلَٰقٌ ٧
We have not heard of this in later religion. This is naught but an invention.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
“We have not heard of this in the latest religion; this is nothing but a fabrication.”
Insight
According to Elmalılı, “the latest religion” may refer to Christianity, widespread before Islam; they claimed not to have heard tawhid even there.
