We Forgave Him

فَغَفَرۡنَا لَهُۥ ذَٰلِكَۖ وَإِنَّ لَهُۥ عِندَنَا لَزُلۡفَىٰ وَحُسۡنَ مَـَٔابࣲ ۝٢٥

So We forgave him that; and lo! he had access to Our presence and a happy journey’s end.

Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall

Meaning

So We forgave him that; and indeed, for him is nearness to Us and a good return.

According to Elmalılı, as his kingdom’s power could not stop the wall being scaled, David too realised a fault, repented and was forgiven.

Repent at once for a mistake you notice.
