The Stupor of Death
وَجَآءَتۡ سَكۡرَةُ ٱلۡمَوۡتِ بِٱلۡحَقِّۖ ذَٰلِكَ مَا كُنتَ مِنۡهُ تَحِيدُ ١٩
And the agony of death cometh in truth. (And it is said unto him): This is that which thou wast wont to shun.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
And the stupor of death will bring the truth: that is what you were trying to avoid.
Insight
Elmalılı explains “sakrah” as an intensity that takes away the mind; death coming with the truth is its coming by Allah’s command.
