We Sent Noah
Lo! We sent Noah unto his people (saying): Warn thy people ere the painful doom come unto them.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
We sent Noah to his people: “Warn your people before a painful punishment comes.”
Insight
Elmalılı relates from al-Alusi: the name Noah is not originally Arabic; it has been said to mean “calm” in Syriac.
Reflect
If you must warn someone, do it before it is too late.
