Roofs of Silver

And were it not that mankind would have become one community, We might well have appointed, for those who disbelieve in the Beneficent, roofs of silver for their houses and stairs (of silver) whereby to mount.

Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall

Meaning

Were it not that people would become one community of disbelief, We would have made for those who disbelieve roofs of silver.

Insight

According to Elmalılı, were it not that it would push all people into disbelief, Allah would give the deniers worldly adornment in abundance; for it has no worth with Him.

Reflect

Reflect that worldly adornment is worthless with Allah.
