An Atom’s Weight of Evil
وَمَن يَعۡمَلۡ مِثۡقَالَ ذَرَّةࣲ شَرࣰّا يَرَهُۥ ٨
And whoso doeth ill an atom’s weight will see it then.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
And whoever does an atom’s weight of evil will see it.
Insight
Elmalılı adds a subtle point: even within what we call an ‘atom’ there is a whole world. The verse expresses the lowest limit of responsibility in the smallest measure human senses can perceive.
Reflect
Review a habit you dismiss with ‘such a small thing doesn’t matter’.
