Give Them a Little Respite
فَمَهِّلِ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ أَمۡهِلۡهُمۡ رُوَيۡدَۢا ١٧
So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
So give the disbelievers respite; leave them a while.
Insight
Elmalılı says “ruwayda” carries a diminutive sense: “give them just a little respite.” For the Hour is not far.
Reflect
Where patience is needed today, do not rush.
