Or Destroys Them
أَوۡ يُوبِقۡهُنَّ بِمَا كَسَبُواْ وَيَعۡفُ عَن كَثِيرࣲ ٣٤
Or He causeth them to perish on account of that which they have earned - And He forgiveth much.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
Or He could destroy them for what they earned; but He pardons much.
Insight
According to Elmalılı, He need not stop the wind but could send a violent storm to sink the ships; yet He pardons much.
