The Harvest of the Hereafter
Whoso desireth the harvest of the Hereafter, We give him increase in its harvest. And whoso desireth the harvest of the world, We give him thereof, and he hath no portion in the Hereafter.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
Whoever desires the harvest of the Hereafter, We increase his harvest; whoever desires the harvest of this world, We give him of it.
Insight
Elmalılı explains “harth” as originally tilling the soil and sowing seed: this world is the field of the Hereafter; you reap what you sow.
Reflect
Sow a seed today in your field for the Hereafter.
