A Known Station
وَمَامِنَّآ إِلَّا لَهُۥ مَقَامࣱ مَّعۡلُومࣱ ١٦٤
There is not one of us but hath his known position.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
“There is none of us except that he has a known position.”
Insight
According to Elmalılı, each angel has a known station and limit at which it stands in service to Allah; they cannot overstep it.
