Of Those Who Glorify
فَلَوۡلَآ أَنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُسَبِّحِينَ ١٤٣
And had he not been one of those who glorify (Allah).
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
Had he not been of those who exalt Allah, he would have remained in its belly until the Day they are resurrected.
Insight
According to Elmalılı, he had long glorified Allah much; and in the darkness he called “There is no god but You, glory be to You.” His rescue was because he had always been one who glorified.
