Lots Were Cast
فَسَاهَمَ فَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُدۡحَضِينَ ١٤١
And then drew lots and was of those rejected.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
And he drew lots and was among the losers.
Insight
According to Elmalılı, he lost the lot and was cast from the ship; though some say he threw himself, the apparent sense is this.
