Grain and Fragrant Plants
وَٱلۡحَبُّ ذُو ٱلۡعَصۡفِ وَٱلرَّيۡحَانُ ١٢
Husked grain and scented herb.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
And grain with husks, and fragrant plants.
Insight
According to Elmalılı, grains like wheat and barley grow inside green leaves; when the leaves dry they become straw, so both the grain and the leaf are useful. Fragrant plants bring the spirit joy.
Reflect
Reflect that every part of a blessing is useful.
