We Hear and Obey
The saying of (all true) believers when they appeal unto Allah and His messenger to judge between them is only that they say: We hear and we obey. And such are the successful.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
The only saying of the believers when called to Allah and His Messenger is: “We hear and we obey.”
Insight
According to Elmalılı, this is saying “we listened, we obeyed, gladly” and answering the call at once.
Reflect
When called to the truth, say “I hear and obey.”
