He Set the Mountains
وَٱلۡجِبَالَ أَرۡسَىٰهَا ٣٢
And He made fast the hills.
Translation: Marmaduke Pickthall
Meaning
And the mountains He set firmly.

According to Elmalılı, spreading the earth means arranging its crust to be fit for life and settlement; the mountains are part of this.
